Mark began his career as a BBC programme producer on BBC Newsnight, The Daily Politics, Radio 4 programmes and a newsgathering producer in foreign bureaus in Pakistan and Egypt. 

 

As a foreign correspondent, Mark has lived and reported in Nigeria, South Africa, Afghanistan, Syria, Israel, Pakistan, the UAE, Qatar, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Turkey, Greece, Germany and the Philippines.

Mark anchors the morning news on BBC One and presents on BBC News during the day

He has also anchored on the BBC World Service and hosted the Global News Podcast, one of the world’s most listened to news podcasts.
 
As a business presenter, Mark fronts Business Today on BBC TV and hosts the weekly programme Talking Business, which is broadcast around the world.
